Welcome to 2nd. Grade

Dear Families,

Welcome to Second Grade! We look forward to a busy and productive school year filled with fun and exciting learning activities, social events, and much more. Our goal is to create a positive, welcoming, and compassionate learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident. Second grade is a time where students’ growth flourishes in reading, writing and math. While we are all excited to jump into academics, we also place a significant emphasis on developing students both socially and emotionally.

During our first few weeks of school we will focus on building our classroom communities through culturally responsive activities. These activities allow students to get to know their peers, as well as allowing the children the opportunity to share information about their own unique selves. We would appreciate your support in building this sense of community by bringing in pictures of your families for us to display in our classrooms.

As your child’s first teacher, you play a big role in our classroom. We welcome and appreciate open communication with families. When the school year begins, we will send you an invitation to join Remind. Once you accept the invitation and join our class, we will be able to communicate with you directly. You can also contact the school at any time with any questions or concerns.
